Biotech Firm Selects Bird Friendly Glass for NJ Project

This stunning project will feature Viracon’s VNE1-63 glass type and will utilize a bird friendly silkscreen design on the entire project as well.

The VNE1-63 glass type will give occupants inside this building incredible views and access to the outdoors, while making it a welcoming, open environment to anyone outside the building.

The bird-safe glass silkscreen was a very important design feature from the owner and GC. Everyone on this project was very interested in reducing bird collisions, even though it isn’t required by code yet in New Jersey. This project will feature ¼” dots covering 1.23% of the glass surface, making this a very high performing bird safe glass, while also not taking anything away from the views.

These units will utilize Viracon’s Thermal Spacer (VTS) for increased total system U-factor, a matte black spacer appearance, and consistent spacer placement on the glass. This spacer also comes with a 12-year warranty instead of the standard 10-year warranty with traditional metal box spacers.
